So, I guess I had to ape other artists and make a personal banner for conventions. As I designed this, I must have been subconsciously inspired by my friend Tim Townsend's banner as I just noticed yesterday that it has a pretty similar composition. Sincere apologies to Tim! Oops! =P

I encourage you to check out his page and see the cool stuff he has coming for Comic Con, including his beautiful-looking book "Meanderings".

Anyway, I used the Psylocke piece for this banner, which seems to be my most popular image here on Deviant. I'm a seriously amateur graphic designer, so I hope this isn't too painful to look at. The basic goal here is to grab attention.

I'm putting together a Comic Con art book right now and will post about it soon...

I really like your choice of color :) Can I ask how you made the spots, I think I have made something like yours, a looong time ago in photoshop, BUT at that time it was more a mistake that I made them.. so now when I could use the effect I don't know how.. hope you'll be that kind and help me a bit..

Sure! This may sound complicated so bear with me: In a separate file in grayscale mode, I use the Halftone Filter on whatever gradient I want to become the spots. Then I copy that image and paste it as a layer mask into my main RGB file that contains the art.

Just experiment and you'll see what I mean :)
