For those who are unaware, I was an inker at Jim Lee's Wildstorm Productions from '93-'99 and I primarily worked with the very talented J. Scott Campbell :iconj-scott-campbell:.

Recently I've had requests to post some of my old work and, with nostalgia getting the better of me, I decided to rummage through what's left of my original art collection. Sadly, there ain't much left. I never was a big collector, even of my own stuff as I sold big batches of it long ago.

But I do have a few pieces left and thought I post a few of them. I kind of miss giving myself tiny finger tattoos from accidentally stabbing myself with a crow quill...

I remember you (as a fan, not a close confidante). Gen 13 was one of the first comic titles in my teenage years that I got in on the ground floor on. I remember that I got some items signed by you on two occasions:

1995- stood in a 2 hour line ad Comic-Con to see you and Campbell (you both signed my copies of Gen 13 #'s 1a, 1b).

1996- met you and Brandon Choi, and proceeded to torture you (not intended) by signing about 7 different issues of Gen 13, and having you sign an image you did of Sarah Rainmaker from the Gen 13 card series.

I still am not good with line quality (I draw like a retarded animation Clean-up artist), and work better with rough sketches.

Btw, if I ever run into you, I hope you could draw on one of the Gen 13 do-it-yourself covers for me. I have one drawn on by Jim Lee (done at Comic-Con 1996), and one drawn on by J Scott Campbell (he drew on it today, fulfilling a dream I've carried for 14 years).

Very cool to have met you before all those years ago! And sure, when I get the opportunity to see you, I'll give that cover-sketch my best shot :)

And if you see Campbell again tomorrow, ask him if he loves Penne. When he looks at you strangely, just say that I told you to ask him. It's a recent silly joke between us which I'm sure he'll explain.

Thanks! Take care!

Alex you should make an ink tutorial, pass the tradition man! I know of some actual inkers afraid to teach, but you could be the savior of traditional inks against a world about to be dominated by the machines (aka digital inking). PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZ!!

Sorry. I'm retired as an inker and haven't inked in over 10 years. Although I might ink over some of my own work soon. We'll see :)
